ACADEMICS
Our Curriculum
Students in preschool through 8th grade are learning and growing in a caring environment at CACC. With a student to teacher ratio of 10:1, students can achieve academic excellence in a small class setting.
CACC uses the A beka curriculum and Shurley English in Kindergarten through 5th grade. A Beka is an accelerated, Christian course of studies that teaches subjects from a Biblical perspective and affirms Christian norms for faith and behavior. This curriculum stresses phonics and provides challenging course work.
Students in 6th through 8th grades are taught from a variety of curriculum including A Beka, Shurley English, as well as a challenging, high school prepatory Mathematics and Science program.
Preschool Program
CACC has a three-year-old and four-year-old preschool program. Our preschool program includes options for half-day (8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.) or full-day (8:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.) enrollment. The preschool curriculum is academic and offers a genuine learning experience for children that is developmentally appropriate for this age group. Preschoolers learn to relate to others, start to understand Christian concepts and prepare to begin their elementary education.
Elementary Classes
The instructional program for kindergarten through grade five emphasizes the student's attainment of basic skills in language, phonics, reading, writing and mathematics. Bible, science and social studies are also part of the curriculum. Extracurricular classes are offered in addition to our standard curriculum. Art, music, Spanish, technology and physical education are provided weekly to promote academic enrichment and cultural diversity.
Middle School Classes
Students in grades six through eight build on pre-existing knowledge but the instructional program is geared toward the transition to high school. Courses for these grades are taught by compassionate instructors with strong backgrounds in particular subjects as opposed to the one instructor/one classroom approach. Grades six through eight receive daily instruction in Bible and weekly instruction in art, music, technology, Spanish and physical education.
